Events
Events are the most widely attended kind of gathering in the SCA. They are a great opportunity to see what people are working on, test your martial skills, and just get lost in the pageantry that led many of us to the sca in the first place. If you are new to the sca, please be aware that unlike meetings, events do require everyone in attendence to be in a reasonable attempt at pre-17th century style clothing. If this sounds intimidating - don't worry, the official SCA website has some super links to extremely quick and easy patterns!
Delftwood Baronial Yule

From the lands of Northern AEthelmearc come the greetings of the Angels. As the cold winds blow and heavy snows fall over these Sylvan lands, all is at peace and preparations begin for Delftwood’s Baronial Yule. The snow laden woods are quiet as the storms have passed and Baron Artemius' skilled bowmen have gone out in search of fresh meat for His Excellency’s table and they return bearing a huge boar (no one you know). Our own Lady Svana in Kyrra has agreed to transform this simple creature into a feast fit to ease the pangs of winter hunger. As the bowmen rest, fencers will test their skills in the lists, brewers will meet to taste and compare the fruits of their labors and the youth of the Barony will enjoy games of skill and have a chance to return to the lists to compete in another pool noodle jousting tourney. An Arts and Sciences display and Games Tourney is planned as well as a contest for the best table setting at feast.
Fencers are requested to wear footwear with non marking soles. Merchants are welcome, but space is very limited. Contact the autocrat no later than November 25 to reserve merchant space.
The event will be held at the same site as last year, Sennett Firehouse, 3526 Franklin Street Road, Auburn, NY on Saturday December 6, 2008. Site opens at 9 am and closes at 9 pm.

Reservations should be sent to the Baronial Exchequer, Master Cyneric Drakenheorte, (James Lienhart) at Barony of Delftwood, PO Box 6694, Syracuse, NY 13217. Please make checks payable to SCA, Inc- Barony of Delftwood and please reserve by November 25.
Site fees: Day fee: $10.00 for adults, $6.00 for children under 14, Children under 5 free. Onboard fee: (includes day fee and feast) Adults $17.00, Children under 14 $10.00, Children under 5 free. The additional $3.00 non-member surcharge will be collected at the door. Families pay for at most two adults and two children, onboard or offboard.

From the South
From Rts 38, 38A & 34
Follow signs north to Auburn. Turn right onto SR 5 & 20 (Arterial/Grant Ave) *Stay eastbound past Wal Mart and Stafford Auto Group. At the Kwik Fill, turn right onto Gates Road **Go to the end and turn right again.
Follow Chestnut Ridge Road to the 4 way intersection. Turn left on to Franklin Street Road. Firehouse is approximately 1 mile on the right hand side.
From Thruway/North
From Weedsport, Exit 40, go south on Rt 34. After the blinker light, keep going south to first traffic light after railroad tracks. Turn left onto Standart Avenue. Go to traffic light, turn left onto 5 & 20 and follow from * above.
From Syracuse/East
Via Rt 5 West
Take Rt 5 west to Auburn. Once past Pizza Hut and the Movieplex, turn left at the Kwik Fill onto Gates Road, follow from ** above.
From Rt 81 North
Take Rt 20/Lafayette exit on to Rt 20 West. Stay on Rt 20 through Skaneateles. Turn right onto Pine Ridge Road. Go to the 4 way intersection and turn right on to Franklin Street Rd. Firehouse is approximately 1 mile on the right.
